The Duchess of Cambridge is Royal Patron to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), a charity that provides exceptional care to children and families with life-threatening conditions. This year they must raise close to £6 million ($9.1 million) from public donations to deliver services. That's £16,000 every day. The fundraising team has chosen to support this very important and delicate cause.
People can donate to the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser through their JustGiving page (http://www.justgiving.com/BabyCambridgeFundraiser). To spice things up, many fashion brands which Kate Middleton has worn have generously donated items which will be rolled out in prizes to be won over the coming weeks. For royal watchers, fashion enthusiasts and beyond, it is a very exciting and unprecedented endeavor.
Cambridge Fundraiser is very special because it is a TEAM effort.
It started as collaborative project of 5 bloggers / social media leaders in the royal watching community. The idea was first conceived in December 2012 - almost the moment it was announced that The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their first child. We thought it would be the perfect time to gather the royal community, celebrate the birth of a future monarch, and most importantly, support a very important cause.
The following blogs are spearheading the endeavor:
Royal watchers & fashion bloggers have banded together to create the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser
|On top of
that, there are numerous other blogs, Facebook pages and royal
enthusiasts who have helped make this a possibility. We highly
encourage you to read our "Meet the
Team" page so we can properly acknowledge the people behind
this collective effort.
The Baby Cambridge Fundraiser lauches on 29 April 2013 -- for William and Kate's second wedding anniversary, and to coincide with Children's Hospice Week. It will run through 31 August 2013. At regular intervals, in various acitivities, we will offer items donated by fashion designers associated with the Duchess.
This fundraising project is carried out with the knowledge and approval of EACH.

|We have chosen to
Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). Hospice,
and in particular children's hospices, is a cause very close to The
Duchess of Cambridge's heart. She has been EACH's Royal Patron since
January 2012 and delivered her very first speech when she opened their
TreeHouse Hospice in Ipswich. Kate has also continued to raise
awareness on this very delicate and often neglected sector of health
care. Who can forget the scenes from William & Kate's visit to
Hospis Malaysia during their Jubilee tour of the South Pacific? We find
it very humbling that in light of this absolutely joyous
occasion of the birth of the royal couple's first child, we should give
back to children who need our help.
"Celebrate the birth of William & Kate's first child by helping another in need."
All the funds raised from the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser will be donated to EACH in recognition of the care they provide young patients and the support offered for family members of those children. East Anglia's Children’s Hospices must raise close to £6 million ($9.1 million) from public donations to deliver services this year. This amounts to more than £16,000 ($24,000) a day, every day of the year. Services through EACH are offered in three hospice locations in England and include day care in the patient’s family home or hospice, support for family members, various therapies and end of life care.
